Yes, we see the quack grass. 😉 The compost we got last year to build the beds in our kitchen garden wasn’t aged enough but it should get better every year!
We made lots of wood chips this year. The pathways are bark mulch and the beds are covered with poplar/spruce wood chips. It helps keep the moisture in, slowly decomposes into new soil, and provides a home for insects/fungi.
We did managed to get 3 rhubarb through the winter. So far this year we’ve planted another 15 rhubarb plants, about 45 hostas and all the other beds have potatoes in them. Everything else we grow this year will go into the beds around the house and the greenhouse.
