Last summer the root vegetable garden got out of hand… We lost against quack grass and just didn’t spend enough time managing things.

This year we are determined to do a better job!  More willows were planted on the east side, we have sun flowers ready to plant on the west side all in the hopes of eventually creating a barrier so that the grass can’t come in from outside once we get the inside more or less grass free.

Yesterday, with help from our wonderful friends, we made a few barriers for the garden beds.  The pathways/beds were blending into each other! Now, we know where they are.

I don’t have a before picture but if you imagine grass, that was pretty much it!

Most of our perennials have come back so we have nice rhubarb and hostas growing.
